Naughty Easy Jap Parts Ltd
June 2, 2006 11:53 am My Complaints, Petrol
My 5th and reverse gear went in one of my cars, the MR2 Turbo. Didnt really think much of it and got myself on 247spares.co.uk and had a few prices from a fair few companies all over the UK for 2nd hand boxes. I didn’t go for the cheapest nor the dearest, tried to get the history of them all and feedback from each company. Easy Jap Parts Ltd came out mid-price and the history of the box sounds OK too.
The indian guy ‘Charles’ stated the gearbox was in a car they are driving round the yard at the minute (imagine a bunch of monkeys climbing round some tyres and driving a smashed up MR2 and you’ll be thinking something similar to what is really going on there) so I ordered it.
£211 later and I still don’t have a gear box…. the car is sitting in the air on high stands as the engine is mid-mounted and needs to come out of the car from the underside to get at the gearbox, a real nightmare. The garage didn’t want to stick it all back together without having the new box so they had a whole bay disabled. Called Easy Jap Parts Ltd and exlained this and they just said “oh sorry, we took the wrong box out and are taking yours our now”.
5 Days later a pallet arrives, I take it to the garage and they open it and there it is….. a metal block in the shape of a gear box with holes in it, sea-weed in it, rust all over it etc etc. Clearly this hadn’t been used in years let alone a few days.
Got a new box from somewhere else and Easy Jap Parts said they would collect this one and refund the cash for me, ok, so they delayed my car and the garage a week but I get my cash back so it’s ok… right?
Wrong! 3 weeks later and many phone calls and all I get is abuse down the phone, told them to come and pick it up and they said they have paid £50 a time twice to pick it up and it wasn’t hear and nobody was in. Bullshit. I was here and my mobile number was on the collection note just in case I went the chippy or something.
Spoke to them again and they use Lynx for their deliveries… funny they should say that because so do I!!!!! They collect from my premises once a day at the least! Spoke to the delivery guy and he said nope… no box on his records for collection.
Called Easy Jap Parts once more and got another mouth full.
Called my bank and said I want to do a charge-back on the card and am now sending the gearbox back to my own cost and will get a full refund via my Bank.
Now….. if I was you, and I was looking for anything Easy Jap Parts had in stock or to order, ID go elsewhere!
Easy Jap Parts Ltd is a blagger website, similar to a complaints one. This is FULL of news and stories about Easy Jap Parts and their shoddy service. Some are going to trading standards, some are going to try and sue them, some just give-up and loose the cash for their dodgy-damaged-goods.
A couple of quotes:
Stay away from this company, i had a complete engine from this company after they contacted me through findapart they delivered it 1 and a 1/2 weeks after they took my money, ifitted it to find the engine that they told me had done 27 thou miles was banging its head off my mechanic told me the bottom end had gone.
Bought a door described as “a minter”, arrived covered in scratches and the bottom of the door folded where it had clearly been dropped.
Contacted Easy Jap Parts many time via phone, email and formal letter quoting the Distance Selling Act, however received absolutely no response.
Finally got hold of Charlie who kindly(!) offered to give me a refund if I took the door back to him and it was in the same condition as it had left him. A clear case of my word against his with me doing all of the running around and he clearly having no intention of refunding any money. Conversation ended up getting very heated and the phone being slammed down. (by the way Charles is an indian/pakistani bloke who probably isn’t even named charles at all)
Dreadful quality parts. Dreadful customer service. They failed on just about every count and refuse to take calls concerning refunds or replacement parts. Avoid like the plague!I wish I’d found this website 2 weeks ago. Ordered exhaust, boot lid and fog light over the telephone. Exhaust turned up on its own 3 days later. Fog light and boot lid followed after 3 days. Can’t believe that anyone would package up a boot lid in such bad condition and expect anyone to be happy to fit it to their car. My car was mint before a bump at the back so I accept that my standards are set high but this takes the p***. Covered in scratches, spolier hanging off, bent at both back corners - only fit for the scrap heap, dread to think what the rest of the car must look like. Spoke to Raj?, ‘Mr Kahn’?, Charlie? and a couple of others, all refused a refund.

I too have had a bad experience with Easy Jap Parts in B’ham. I ordered a door which did arrive but was a week late. Then as I’d already fitted another door by this time I sent the Eay Jap Parts door back and after a fe phone calls I was told by the Director (who I’m sure was using a more English name) that they don’t do refunds.
After contacting trading standards I got my problem resolved and the monies did go back into my back account.
It took 6 weeks in all to achieve nothing. They really are the best guys in the business….. if the business is doing nothing for lots of cash.
Complete rip-offs!
Stay well away!

I have just contacted trading standards who have advised me to make a claim via the courts.
I am following their advice and would recommend anybody else to do the same.
Easy Jap Parts need to be forced to stop trading if they proceed to rip every tom, dick and harry off with their dodgy carp parts and really poor quality customer service levels.
Yet they say they are the biggest in the midlands and that they have an office in Japan?!?!?!

wish I had researched this company before I purchased my parts. I ordered a track control arm and a rear fog light for my vehicle, was send over a week later two completely rubbish track control arms and no light. The mechanic said that the ones I had been sent were worse than the one I needed replacing. Rang to complain told I would have to send them back for a refund, asked someone to call me back - after 3 calls and no replies looked for them on the website. Thanks for all the comments know its gonna be a struggle to get my money back - will keep site updated.

I needed an engine for my mitsubishi gto so I speak to this bunch of utter joakers and get one for £1000 + VAT next day delivery (took 3 weeks) 44000Km (add a 1 on the front!) 4 month warenty (when I finally get an invoice after saying I want a refund it says 30days) so now we are of to the small claims court! Just remember people if these jokers do sting you you can claim damages as well as a refund (in my case the fitting fee of £495) its all in the Sale of goods act 1979. And if you do get stung reprt them to trading standards hopefully if enough of us do they will be able to shut the idiots down (and I realy hope send them down as well!)

Just bought a par of gas struts for a Subaru from Easy Jap Parts. They arrived damaged and for a completely different vehicle. Have been emailing them with no success. Next stop is Trading Standards. There appear to be several websites all full of complaints against this company. Wish I had found them before parting with any cash.

If only it was possible to turn the clock back three weeks, found these forum sites and not ordered a replacement automatic gearbox from these people for my Nissan Serena, the first arrived was fitted (£200+vat), drive goes after 30secs, phone up EJP we will get another out in 48 hours, 9 days later the replacement turns up, this time with no torq converter and best of all a snapped prop shaft, so when the bubble wrap was removed, gearbox oil went everywhere, obviously dropped before transit as the places where the breaks are do not look recent.
So having read through other peoples misery with this lot, i have simply emailed them and told them I want a refund and the two crap boxes collected within 48 hours or i will take it further, i have also contacted trading standards.
This still leaves me however with a serena with no gearbox and unhappy kids who want to go out at the weekend, so is there a reputable secondhand parts dealer anywhere…….or is that asking too much?

Bloody Great! Wish i’d found this place before MY nightmare with this AWFUL dishonourable company. Read what happened to me and take extreme care when spending YOUR hard earned cash on what SEEMS like it could be a good deal..
End of september Tony contacted me via findapart to tell me they had a headlight unit and indicator unit in stock for my car (Mazda 323).
As i live in the middle of nowhere i RASHLY asked them for a set of good brake discs for my car too. Bad mistake. In fact bad mistake overall with this terrible company. I also was promised a speedy delivery however they took two days longer than expected necessitating me wasting time waiting for them and taking time off work.
And when they arrived? Oh surprise surprise, despite them having my car registration number they sent the wrong indicator unit. And the brake discs they sent made EVERY mechanic i know laugh. like a drain. The brake discs were worse than the ones i had ON the car.
Oh yes next i had to endure the endless phone calls, tracy promising to ring back (oh what a surprise that never happened!)…Eventually tony told me if i sent them back i’d get a refund (hahahahaha). I sent the parts back, on a 5 day delivery, at a cost of 12 quid.
Several phone calls and a full month later (i should’ve seen it coming really).. tony tells me that the parts haven’t been received back to them and if i can show them a signature i can have a refund.
I’d sent them standard parcel which meant 5 day delivery and guess what.. no signature…. can you see where this is going oh hardworking folk that don’t need to be ripped off?
I’m going to be contacting the post office to find out if this company has a history of “losing returns” (and i bet i can guess what they’re going to say)and then i ALSO have to try and reclaim cash that intrinsically i know i’ve had ripped off from me.
AVOID THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE HALF A BRAIN. BUYING GENUINE PARTS WILL END UP COSTING YOU LESS TIME MONEY AND STRESS.
I’ve only lost 100 quid to this poxy THIEVING company, but my heart goes out to those of you that have been ripped off for more than that. If anybody has any practical ideas on how to obtain cash back, or has an ongoing trading standards claim, please get in touch (djtopaz@hotmail.com) as i would love to help you strengthen your claim.
I could not be MORE disgusted with not only their appalling customer service and blatant lies, but the brazen THEFT of customers cash speaks volumes too.
I suspect this won’t be the last complaint about them. Absolutely terrible dishonourable company with staff about as useful as chocolate teapots.
PLEASE PLEASE.. HARDWORKING PEOPLE… DON’T GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CASH. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

I have already left a negative comment about Easy Jap Parts, and in fairness I have read both negative and positive reviews of EJP. What I find very worrying is that some of the positive thumbs up comments appear to be fake, possibly placed by EJP staff themselfs. Heres an example, on March 14th Nos4r2 left the opening comment, “I used an online part saearch engine to find a jap import part I urgently needed…” His comment is a negative but note the sentence structure and importantly the SPELLING of the word search. Now on the 18th March Rambo left a positive comment which started with ” I used an online part saearch engine to find a jap import engine I urgently needed …” Now is’nt that a coincidence? Same sentence structure, same mis spelyt word. So…everyone please double check the so called thumbs up comments about this company, check the date too when a positive was left, as for some reason a positive is left near enough the same time a negative is left. I suggest to anyone using this site to make a judgement on EJP, just go with the negatives as the positive comments run a very high risk of being fakes!!!! PS lets see if a positive follows this comment?

Bought a bull bar from them that was damaged and worse than the part I binned. Tony at EJP said send it back for a full refund and plus refund of postage for the return. Guessw hat when they gotr the part back they said we can’t refund you as the part was returned damaged??Hangon I returned as it was already damaged. The courier company said I should get photos of the damage from EJP, have I received any pics, of course not EJP can’t even reply top emails let alone take pics, thats way too complicated for these cheese monkeys. This pond sc m have ripped me off over £100, I implore all of you to do the following make a complaint against EJP by going to the Trading Standards, Office of Fair trade plus make a report of theft to the Birmingham City police, and finally get in touch with the media, gp to http://www.bbc.co.uk and email Watchdog regarding the practices of EJP, the more complaints they receive the more they will actually investigate this company. I’ve been on the spoof EJP website and it really does tell the truth about EJP, go and have a look. Finally lets orgainise and pay Tony and his monkeys a visit and we will show him a new storage space for his brilliant spares, very alimentary. Oh yes and lets see how long it takes before a positive is left, by an EJP staffer.

Avoid this company at all costs.
Charged my card for a part they knew was not in stock and then said “we don’t do refunds”. Anyway I got the impression a refund would not be forthcoming so got County Court Judgement against them, which was very quick and easy as they didn’t bother replying to any court letters.
Now for the interesting bit, I asked for a Warant of Execution from the Court (request to send bailiffs in) and spoke to the bailiff in question and he said “yes I collected a cheque from them today and their cheques are usually ok” So a bailiff visits them regularly enough to know them and collects cheques for outstanding court actions, need I say more?

!!!! DONT TOUCH THIS COMPANY !!!!
They sell you parts they do not even have but are quick enough to take your money….
I ordered a brake caliper 3 weeks ago, they sent a caliper for the wrong car, called sent e-mails etc and eventually got the part it was for the wrong side…
loads of phone calls and a lot of messing about later i was promised i would have the correct part within 2 days - It is now 2 weeks later and still nothing.
Have called company every day to be fobbed off with different excuses and promised to be called back - which never happens ( i dont think they know how to make an outgoing call!!)
They informed me it had been sent with a courier, I asked for a number to contact the courier and see what was happening - They only have a mobile number which is constantly switched off !!! (aye right!)
Today after a number of feeble excuses I finaly lost the plot with their pathetic excuse for customer service so asked for a refund - which they refuse to give until I pay to return the incorrect part.
I fail to see why I should pay for their error and will be cancelling payment with my card company and it will be up to them to arrange collection of the part…..
All in all I find this company terrible to deal with, they make loads of promises and make all the right noises but when it comes down to it they are just useless and never deliver; either their promises or the correct goods..

I also used first choice spares who passed me onto Easy Jap Parts for my MX5 wing and door.. I ordered my parts and waited 2 weeks for the delivery, when it finally arrived it was only a door which was full of broken glass and had dents/scratches.. Fair enough i thought, it was cheap and it’s only for a track car. I rang Easy Jap Parts after not hearing anything about my wing and easily enough they offered a full refund for that part, result i thought..
Today i spend most of the morning stripping the old door down and moving parts over to the new door which at this point had been washed and had hours of t-cut/polish to make it look half sharp, anyways i got the door in place but noticed the pillar was really bent!! Rang them up and after being passed around i was told i could have a refund but only if i send the door back to them and pay for delivery myself.. Now after finding this site i very much doubt i’ll be posting the door back. Got back on the phone and the bloke said i could pop down with the door and he’d have a replacement waiting for me.. I’ve emailed them to confirm what the bloke has said and i’ll ring yet again to check stock before i set off..
I would not use Easy Jap Parts again if they were the only place in the world who had the part i want in stock.. Spread the word..

GTO saga again! Will this ever end!
Lets see it’s June 2007 and I order a GTO twin turbo engine on 24hr delivery 3 weeks later I get it and it gets fitted, 2 weeks after that its smoking like Macy Gray. Phone calls and court procedings ensue in court March 2008 I win they don’t show £2400 coming my way!! Hooray says I, send in the bailiffs. Oh but we didn’t know we were meant to be in court say Easy Jap! Would you believe they didn’t get any of the court docs! Back in court August 2008, sorry sir we didn’t know. Ok says the judge come back in December we’ll sort it out then.
Now on to the point- when I go back I want to take as much info with me as possible so to all you people that have been to court, can you post your case number and the court it was at and I’ll give it all to the judge. Hopefully that will put the final nail in Easy Japs coffin if I can prove they have been taken to court loads of times before!
Thanks Kris

In my case they are now claiming that EJP no longer exists and that Tony (AKA Umar) was only ever a friend of the company. People who feed strong enough about this need to join forces to involve an M.P. to force the men behind this business out of the industry. The courts have the powers to exclude them from being Directors of any company and could even bar them from association with any business selling car parts. The low life behind this business clearly hold decent brits in contempt seen by the fact that they even hide behind false names!!

Just looking for a part for my Honda CRV via 247 Spares - one quote received from “MIDLAND Jap Parts” at same address as “EASY Jap parts” Do you know if it is the same firm with a new name? Seems suspiciously like “Midland Jap SPARES” to me!! - (this must be a company with a better reputation in what appears to be a different part of Birmingham)

Bollocks. You’re just changing the name again. And your false british name is bollocks too.
Bunch of monkies are still running the place and it’s still Easy Jap Parts / Parts R Us / 24-7 Spares and now Midland Jap Parts.
Total waste of space. Don’t touch them with a barge pole.
